What does sustainable energy mean?

Sustainability means minimal impact on the ecosystem, reduction of primary energy and harmful substances, mass reduction, use of renewable resources and viewing real estate from the standpoint of lifecycle management.

As a member of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) K+S is active, also as a consultant for energy concepts for property of all kinds. This applies for new and existing buildings.

As a matter of principle, our approach is open to the result. We evaluate and analyze all existing data and requirement profiles without favoring one particular system.

Energy-efficient construction, the selection of resource-saving materials, comfort, health and security aspects as well as the expected expenditure for maintenance and repair are the parameters for developing a comprehensive energy concept. With integrated and documented planning processes, we at K+S ensure that our clients receive the highest level of quality. Together we implement regenerative systems for producing energy and avoiding consumption.

Among others, these are

  • Cogeneration through combined heat and power stations
  • Geothermal energy systems
  • Solar heating systems
  • Photovoltaic systems
  • Ventilation systems with high heat recovery levels
  • Use of district heating with low primary energy consumption
  • Heating systems using biomass
  • Heating systems using wood and
  • Fuel cells.

These services are considered Special Services in the full treatment of a building project according to HOAI listed services. First, they often support the decision-making process concerning energy concept, sustainability and the investment and cost efficiency analysis. With this, we give the client the best possible means for assessment and evaluation.
